Permanent Veterinary Surgeon, West Yorkshire

We are working with a busy growing practice that is based between Halifax and Huddersfield that is looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. They are looking for a vet with good general surgical and consulting skills.

The Practice:

The practice has been open for nearly 5 years and has been growing during this time into a busy small animal practice. One of the practice partners has a certificate in surgery and performs several advanced procedures – soft tissue and orthopaedics. This makes them unique – they provide a personal service to clients as they are a small, close-knit team, but they can offer advanced procedures that many other small practices cannot.

You will be joining a supportive working environment with a lovely, friendly team of 3 vets, 3 RVNs, a VCA, 3 receptionists, and a practice manager. They will offer you the ability to work to gold standard utilising the in-house digital X-ray, IM3 dental X-ray, ultrasound, laboratory, surgical suite, separate dog and cat wards

The Role and Candidate:

This is a full time where you will be working 40 hours per week with a 3.5 weekday rota (same day off every week), with a Saturday rota of 1 in 3.

You should have good general surgical and consulting skills, a special interest in medicine would be fantastic to complement the surgical bias that is already in practice, however, this is not a must.

You will be confident in a sole charge role on a Saturday (they are closed Sundays and use a sister practice for their OOH)

You must have the passion and drive that they all do to provide excellent client and patient care and most importantly to enjoy having fun in an amazing team despite what wonders this job can throw at us day to day!

The Package:

  • Excellent clinical support and career development, certificates supported and encouraged
  • Good work-life balance
  • Competitive salary
  • Generous CPD, £1500 per annum
  • Paid memberships – RCVS, BSAVA, BVA, VDS
  • Company pension scheme
  • Exclusive company discounts with Vets4Pets and PetsatHome
  • 5 weeks holiday and birthday off
  • NO OOH
