We are currently recruiting for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a state of the art Ophthalmic Referral Practice in Central Cumbria, on a permanent basis
The Practice:
Our client is an ophthalmic referral practice based in Penrith, providing services to animals across the North of England. They are a small and friendly team who offer support and great further development for their staff. The impressive facilities allow complex ophthalmic surgical procedures and highly advanced medical treatment to be undertaken. Our client will soon be relocating to a new larger premises, in an exciting expansion of this specialist facility.
The Role:
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. The normal opening hours are 9 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday, with emergencies only seen evenings and weekends. Weekend commitments are just 1:5 and will be on-call only. You may be required to cover on call 1:2 on occasions when other staff is not available. Their OOHs is very quiet and does not require a rapid response, as long as you reside within 90 minutes of the practice. Previous experience of ophthalmology isn’t required as full training will be provided!
The Candidate:
You will be qualified and registered veterinary nurse, a good team player and keen to work in a friendly referral environment, that is supportive of further development.

Weekends: 1 in 5 on-call
Out of hours: 1 in 5 weekends on call & possible requirements through the week if other team members are unable to attend
Branch work: You will be working at their new premises in Penrith but also at their surrounding branches if required
Salary: £20,500 (DOE) + generous CPD allowance
To qualify for this position, you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
