We are recruiting on behalf of a mixed practice in East Leicestershire who are looking to recruit a full time Registered Veterinary Nurse on a permanent basis.
This well-established independent veterinary hospital can be found in an easily accessible location in Leicestershire. Their premises are purpose built and set in 8.5 acres surrounded by rural countryside.
They are proud to offer extensive hospital facilities and diagnostic equipment both in their equine and small animal department. They also have a clinical association with the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science giving them access to the expertise from leading veterinary specialists as well as the latest equipment and technology!
This is a full-time permanent role, working 40 hours per week on average. The role is a first opinion nursing position in a strong, nurse-led team.
The practice covers their own out-of-hours the rota for this is 1:5, as well as 1:8 weekends.
The weekend/out-of-hours rota works as follows:
• Weekend on: Preceding Friday off, Saturday 8:30am - 2pm in practice and then you would be free to go home but be on call to come in until 8am on Monday
• You would then have Monday day time off and start out-of-hours Monday and Tuesday 5:30pm-8am
• You would then have all of Wednesday day and night off
• Then work out-of-hours again Thursday and Friday 5.30pm - 8am
The rota has been devised by the nurses themselves to suit them and give them plenty of time off around the weekend and on call shifts.
The ideal candidate will be a confident and competent Registered Veterinary Nurse with the ability to fit in well with the existing team of nurses.
The practice can offer a generous salary of between £20,000 and £24,000 depending on experience. CPD is supported and encouraged.
