We are currently recruiting for a full or part-time, permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a wonderful practice based North of Worthing, West Sussex.
The Practice:
Our client is a 100% small animal practice that has been caring for dogs, cats, and other domestic pets for over 35 years. They are based in West Sussex and currently have 3 branch surgeries. Veterinary care is provided by a dedicated team of vets and a full support staff of RVN's VCA's, receptionists and office staff. Out of hours cover is provided by their own vets, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All x-rays and ultrasounds are carried out on-site to allow a thorough and efficient diagnosis. They have just recently acquired a new laser and ultrasound machine, along with a digital x-ray.
The Role:
A full-time role would be 35 hours a week, Monday - Friday. The shifts will either be 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00 or 10:00 - 18:00. However, the shift pattern can be flexible for the right candidate.
The out of hours rota would be 2 nights in a 5-week block working 12.00 - 20.00 (including one-hour unpaid break), 21.00 - 22.00 (for inpatient checks with the vet) and then 07.00 - 12.00 the following morning.
The weekend rota will be 1 in 6 working Friday 12.00 - 20.00, Saturday 08.30 - 13.30 and Monday 07.00 - 11.00. During the weekend you will be on call to support the emergency work as it arises (the vet OOHS duty runs to 9pm on Friday and until 5pm on Saturday). You will not be required to work Sunday as the emergency work goes elsewhere. There is also flexibility around the OOHs for the right candidate.
The Candidate:
You will be a qualified and registered veterinary nurse who is confident with general nursing duties. You will be ambitious and looking for role to expand your knowledge and skills.
