We are working with a practice in Cornwall, traditionally owned, rather than part of a group or corporate chain which is run as very much part of the local community, retaining its friendly and caring approach whilst continuing to improve and develop the standards and services offered.
Our client is looking to recruit a full-time small animal veterinary surgeon with 2 years experience.
Our client has a group of practices across Cornwell which provides veterinary services for small animal, large animal and Equine. They offer 24hr emergency cover for both pets and large animals.
You will be joining a large team of Vets, Nurses, Receptionist and Support staff. Their staff is always on hand to help and assist pet owners and farmers. Their clients can be assured of a friendly voice on the end of the phone and a welcoming smile when patients come in to see us at the practice. They have a genuine love for all animals and will do their utmost to ensure that pets and livestock receive the best possible care.
This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, either from 8:45-5:30 or 8:45- 7:15. The practice provides their own out of hours service, with 1:8 full weekends on call duties, and 1:8 nights on call. When full weekend duties are worked, there is time off given. You will be working alongside 4 small animal vets, 2 full large animal vets, and 8 mixed animal vets. All of the vets participate in the OOH's and all this involves is taking the pager home for any in-patients who may be in the practice.
The ideal candidate will have roughly 2 years' experience and fit into this large team of vets. You will have to be competent with routine consults and surgery and be willing to get stuck into OOH's.
The practice pride itself on client relationships, so excellent client facing skills are paramount.
