We are currently recruiting for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon for an independent veterinary practice based in Monmouthshire, Wales.
This position is flexible and can be either full or part-time (27-40 hours per week).
This practice offers a full local vet service to the area and they have two sites that are 10 miles apart. They are an independently owned Small Animal Practice with an excellent reputation for client care and are looking for a genuine team member hoping to settle somewhere beautiful. Their practice is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is ideal for dog walking, outdoor pursuits etc.
They are only an hour from Bristol and an hour and a half from Birmingham, with good train links to London and the North. Their fundamental focus is wellbeing of their patients, they pride themselves on their ethics. The team is friendly and caring. The practice is fully-equipped with all the usual toys, they are an RCVS accredited practice offering a range of services including Veterinary Consultations, Nurse Consultations, and Acupuncture. They also have visiting specialists including a Chartered Physiotherapist, a Veterinary Ophthalmologist, and Veterinary Cardiologist.
This is a full time or a part time permanent position working 27 - 40 hours per week. There is an out of hours rota that includes 1 in 6 nights on call during the week and 1 in 9 Saturdays and 1 in 9 Sundays (not both together).
There may be some sole charge with this position, although most of the time there will be support available. You must have your own transport.
The ideal candidate will need enough experience to work unaccompanied and cope with some out of hours work.
In return, the practice is offering a salary package of up to £50,000 (Dependant on experience) plus a generous pension (6.5% of salary) and CPD allowance, RCVS and VDS fees paid. There is also a flat available to rent if required.
