We are working with an independent practice based on the Somerset/Avon border, who are looking for a permanent full-time Veterinary Surgeon with 3+ years small animal experience to join their friendly and supportive team.
The Practice:
Our client is a small veterinary practice who get to know their clients' and patients well. This close relationship gives the practice a friendly family feel. Since 2014 the practice has made a noted investment in new and improved equipment, such as digital radiography, ECG, Idexx blood machine, dental X-ray, Ultrasound scanning, Endoscopy, and the introduction of more fully qualified nurses to provide a higher quality service. The team will consist of 2 vets, 5 nurses, and an excellent support team.
The Role:
This is a full-time permanent position for a caring and sympathetic veterinary surgeon to work alongside another vet, 5 nurses and additional support staff.
You will be working a range of shifts, which are as follows:
On week 1 you will work 2 days 8.30am – 4.30pm, 2 days 8.30am - 7.00 pm, and 1 day 8.30am – 1.00 pm. On week 2 you will work 3 days 8.30am – 7.00 pm and 2 days 8.30 am – 4.30 pm. You will work 1 in 6 Saturdays and 1 in 6 weekends on call. The on-call is light as it is shared with a neighbouring practice.
Vets take an equal share of consults and surgeries and are expected to take ownership and build relationships with their clients.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience and be confident in all routine surgeries, you will be expected to work some sole charge, and be able to bounce off the other vet.
