We are currently recruiting for a busy, traditional mixed practice in Cumbria who requires an additional Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Practice:
This is a well-established practice which has been offering veterinary care in the local area for over 60 years! The practice has a busy caseload, equally split between Large Animal and Small animal. The practice also has a dedicated team of 5 experienced mixed veterinary surgeons as well as a strong team of support staff. As well as providing farm visits for emergencies, hoof trimming, calving, castrations, dehorning and TB testing, the practice and also offer modern on-site facilities for their smaller patients include ultrasound, in-house lab, digital x-ray and much more.

The Role:
This is a full-time position, 4.5 days per week, 8:30 am -17:00 pm Monday to Friday with 1 in 3 nights on call and 1 in 3 weekends on call (no routine weekend surgery)
This position is 50% large animal (dairy, sheep, beef, TB testing, family smallholdings etc) and  50% Small animal. Candidates must be confident in all areas.
In return, the practice can offer a generous package, with salary starting from £22,000 (plus accommodation, car, VDS and RCVS fees, 5 days CPD, pension and annual leave) for newly graduate veterinary surgeon raising on experience.

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have minimum 12 months experience and have experience with both small animal and large animal practice, as well as on-call. There is back up available from the more senior vet for the right candidate who is ambitious and a good team player.

To qualify for this position, you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
