We are currently recruiting on behalf of an independent small animal practice located close to Blackpool, Lancashire who are seeking to recruit a permanent Veterinary Surgeon on a part-time basis.
The Practice:
Our clients' practice is expanding and they are looking for a part-time veterinary surgeon to join their existing team. This practice offers health care for all types of domestic pets from giant dog breeds down to the smallest mouse.
The practice offers a full range of preventative and therapeutic services. In-house, they have a full range of operative equipment, radiography facilities, ECG machine to monitor heart irregularities, endoscopic equipment and ultrasound. You will be joining a team of 3 vets, 4 nurses and receptionists.
The Role:
This is a permanent part-time post with a varied rota, with hours between 8.30 am - 5.30 pm/9.00 am - 6.00 pm/10.00 am - 7.15pm (ideally Mon, Thu & Fri). 1:3 weekends; Saturday morning with no on-call or OOH, if Saturday is worked then they would do a 10.00 am - 7.00 pm on the Friday and Monday.
Duties consist of general consultations, basic surgery, bloods etc, home visits. Knowledge of the Rx works system would be helpful.
The practice offers a great opportunity for a new grad or an experienced vet to join a supportive team and progress their careers, skills and knowledge. This role is at a busy practice with a mixed varied caseload with orthopaedic/thoracic referrals.
In return, the practice is offering a competitive salary (DOE). Pension after probation is 5% contribution by the company, with no contribution from the employee.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate would have 2+ years’ experience or be a new grad and have an interest in treating long-term illnesses and oncology. They would be an excellent communicator, can be adaptive, get on with people and be a forward thinker. They should also like a busy, fast-paced, challenging environment.
