We are currently working with a delightful independent RCVS accredited practice which serves the community in East Hampshire caring for cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and birds. Our client is currently looking to recruit a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to work 3 days per week [job share] on a permanent basis.
The Practice:
Our client has branches based in 3 quaint market towns of East Hampshire on the Hampshire/Surrey border. Their dedicated team of 6 vets, 7 RVNs, 4 SVNs, plus support staff offer state-of-the-art medicine and compassionate care to the pets they see and a friendly listening ear to their owners.
The practice is well equipped which enables their team to perform a range of surgical procedures including major surgery (e.g. orthopaedic work), X-rays, ECGs and in-house laboratory, full dental care, using the latest anaesthetic agents and equipment and full anaesthetic monitoring. Their ultrasound can be used as a non-invasive aid to diagnose in a variety of conditions and to confirm pregnancy in a dog or cat. They also have a separate cat and dog wards.
The Role:
This is a permanent part-time position working 3 days per week either Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday or Monday, Thursday and Friday on a job share basis. Hours are 8.45 am - 17.00 pm - with 10-minute consults, 2:5 Saturdays 9.00 am – 13.00 pm – No OOHs/on call. The post could involve some sole charge from time to time because although the post would be predominantly based at one location, it may involve occasional visits to the other two sites.
The Candidate:
This post would ideally suit a good all-round GP who is confident with some sole charge and comfortable with most aspects of routine veterinary care and procedures. The ideal candidate would probably have a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
