We are looking for a full time experienced veterinary surgeon to join a practice based in South Wales, around Bridgend area on a permanent basis.
The practice has a large, experienced and lovely team that work together within their busy hospital.
They currently have a fantastic team of 11Vets and 7 Nurses & 8 SNV’s. They are all supportive and approachable; always offering advice and support as and when necessary to clients and also each other! Their fantastic nurses are here 24-7 and answer our out of hour’s calls - this means that your on-call duty only involves the actual emergency work.
This practice offers outstanding standards of small animal care and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons highest Tier 3 accredited diagnostic and treatment facilities. They have a wide range of facilities available including 24-hour nursing care, Intensive Care Facilities such as oxygen units and intravenous fluid pumps. Operating facilities and diagnostic equipment such as ultrasound machines, operating theatres, endoscopy, and ECG.
For an experienced veterinary surgeon, our client offers the opportunity to expand surgical experience through a busy and varied surgical list, gain sole charge experience at branch level, further enhance medicine knowledge via their busy Tier 3 hospital ward and they are fully supportive further training ambitions.
Our client is based in Bridgend, South Wales, with access to the beautiful coast line and the Brecon Beacons. They are close to Cardiff - which is has been voted 3rd most liveable city in the UK!
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday shifts are made up of 8am-4pm, 9am-6.30pm and 12am-8am. Our client prides themselves on providing a full out of hours’ emergency service and this is shared on a 1 in 6-night rota. The on-call duty vet starts at 2pm and then has the following day off. Weekend coverage is 1 in 3 working 9am-2pm Sat & Sun. However, to ensure work life balance a vet is rota to work no more than an average of 42 per week and while on call you have the support of a senior vet as “back up” to discuss cases, assist you and attend if required.

Weekends: 1 in 3 (9am - 2am Sat & Sun)

Salary: Circa £45,000 + competitive salary package and CPD allowance.
To qualify for this position you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
