We are currently working with a trusted and respected practice that has been serving the community in Northumberland for many years. Our client has an expanding, dedicated and knowledgeable team that is looking for a like-minded caring vet to join their team on a permanent basis working with small animals.
The role is full time and would suit an experienced (2yrs+) or a new grad with a passion for small animals, would consider a mixed vet with some equine experience.
The Practice:
Our client is a mixed practice which has 8 different branches in the area and treats small and large animals including equine and farm plus exotics.
Their main animal hospital moved to a new purpose built site and includes state-of-the-art new facilities with four operating theatres, a dental suite, fully-equipped diagnostic laboratory, X-ray room, ultra sound including Doppler for the investigation of complex heart conditions, and endoscopy facilities. There are separate wards for dogs, cats, birds, small mammals and exotics, a physio and hydrotherapy suite, and six consulting rooms. The practice employs more than 50 staff, including 16 vets, 11 qualified veterinary nurses, 4 trainee nurses, 5 nursing auxiliaries, a hydro therapist and administration/support help.
The Role:
This is an extremely busy practice and vets need to work to 10-minute consultations. The ideal candidate, therefore, will need to be level headed and able to cope working in a fast-paced environment.
The post would suit either a new/recent graduate with a passion for small animals and experienced Vet 2-years’ experience. The current team is a happy working unit which means adapting to and being a team player with good communication and customer care skills both internal and external being key.

Hours: Full Time. Mon - Fri, 8am - 6pm
WE: 1 in 6 Sat & Sun
OOHs: 1:6 evening on call
Salary: Competitive and negotiable based on skills and experience + CPD + BVA + VDS + private healthcare
To qualify for this position you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
