This well-established Small Animal Primary Care Practice is located in Essex, just a two-minute walk from local train stations. The practice operates across two dedicated buildings—one for hospital care and another for consultations, featuring separate cat and dog waiting areas and consult rooms.
This practice is accredited under the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme and is a registered Training Practice (TP) for veterinary nurse education. The practice also holds Silver Accreditation as a Cat-Friendly Clinic.
The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including:
A large in-house laboratory
Direct digital X-rays
Dental X-rays and a dedicated dental suite
An ultrasound suite
Team:
Access to visiting orthopedic and cardiology specialists
The team boasts a diverse range of expertise, spanning anesthesia, emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, animal behavior, patient care, rehabilitation, and nutrition.
Additionally, two nurses hold ECC certificates, further strengthening the team’s capabilities.
The Role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established veterinary team in Essex.
Hours:
This permanent, full-time position offers a structured 40-hour workweek over five days
With a 1:3 Saturday rotation (8:30 AM - 12:30 PM) and time off in lieu.
In particular, no out-of-hours work is required.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a passion for mentoring and quality improvement. This role is well-suited to individuals looking to develop their leadership capabilities, possessing strong problem-solving abilities and experience in leading a practice team.
