Recruit4Vets - FAQs
How do I register with Recruit4vets?
Simply click on the register button at the top right corner of this website and complete the short registration form or click on the Apply button below a job and one of our team will then contact you to discuss your requirements in more detail.
What happens after I register?
We will contact you and discuss your work requirements and go through all the open vacancies which may interest you. We are in regular contact with most veterinary practices in the UK, so we tend to have the majority of veterinary jobs on our database. If there aren't any suitable jobs on our system, we will proavtively contact practices in your desired area because quite often a practice will not be actively advertising a vacancy but may be interested in talking to a really good candidate should they become available.
Do you give out my contact details?
Your name and contact details are not given to anyone until we have discussed the vacancy with you and you have given us permission to pass on your details. During the application process you will be asked to complete a skills questionnaire which may be used to highlight your skills and experience to a potential employer, but we anonymise this information so that any identifying data is kept from the practice.
Wouldn't I be better off applying for jobs myself?
We have been helping vets and nurses find work for over 10 years and in that time, have helped 1000s of people find work. Over that time, we have built up trusted working relationships with many practice owners and managers, we can therefore pitch you in as a potential employee, recommend your skills, experience, personality and your culture fit for the practice. You will receive an introduction to the key decision maker through someone they trust, which has a much higher likelihood of success than a CV landing on a desk without an introduction.
Which companies do you work with?
We work with almost 2000 independent practices and most of the larger veterinary groups and charities including Linnaeus, Medivet, Independent Vetcare, VetsNow, Vets4Pets and Companion Care, Vet Partners, Goddard Veterinary Group, The Royal Veterinary College and the PDSA, we also work with many companies on a sole agreement basis meaning that you won't find their jobs advertised with other recruiters. We have at any one time around 500 independent jobs and 500 larger veterinary group jobs.
How do I hear about new jobs?
The easiest way to hear about new jobs is to set up job alerts, simply click on the register button at the top right corner of this website and complete the registration form, you can then set up job alerts which will be emailed to you either daily or weekly.
Do you charge a fee for this service?
No, all our services are completely free to the job seeker, we charge a fee to the client if we successfully find them a suitable candidate, our fees to the client are around the same as the cost of an advert ran concurrently in The Vet Times and the Vet Record.
Should I register with more than one agency?
You are free to register with as many agencies as you like, however, we recommend that you only register with one or a maximum of two. Being over-represented and having lots of agencies sending your CV to the same client will be seriously detrimental to your chances of securing a position. The same applies to registering with or applying to jobs on 'Job Boards', most job boards sell candidate CVs and contact details to agencies and employers so you could find yourself unintentionally registered with multiple agencies. Be selective and choose the recruiters who are interested in providing you with the best and most relevant advice for your job search. A good start for deciding which agency to choose will be a recommendation from a friend or colleague.
Should I tell you which jobs I have already applied for?
We are here to help you source your next job and to provide you with advice and recommendations which are going to help with your job search. It is important therefore that you provide us with honest and genuine information about what you do and don't want. If you have specific requirements or your search criteria changes let us know as soon as possible, a good recruiter will be speaking to 10-20 potential clients on your behalf and they need accurate and up to date information about your requirements.
