A hospital practice requires an OOHs Registered Veterinary Nurse on a permanent basis to start at their busy small animal practice in Hertfordshire. This position is to start as soon as possible.
The Practice:
Our client is a friendly and professional practice with a high caseload and consist of a team of 11 registered veterinary Nurse’s, 5 Trainees and 8 Vets. They have fantastic facilities including Hospital Laboratory, Hospitalisation Intensive Care Facilities, Dental Treatment, Radiography, Ultrasound and ECG, Endoscopy and Laparoscopy and Surgical Facilities. They offer services such as consultations seeing up to 4 clients each hour, Vaccinations, Micro-Chipping, Going abroad services, Physiotherapy, Clinics, Puppy parties, Youth Club, Weight Clinic and Dental Clinic.
The Role:
This is an OOHs role working 7 on 7 off OR Mon-Thurs or Fri- Sun. Weekday nights will be 9pm-8.30am or 11pm-8.30am, weekend nights are 6pm-8.30am. This role is mainly sole charge, you will work alongside one other nurse for one hour at the start and end of your shift. You will take phone calls from members of the public and provide a triage service, calling in a vet if needed. Some vets stay on sit and others are at home on call max 15 mins away. Therefore, you will need to be confident in providing emergency and critical care services.
