A well-established veterinary practice in New Malden has recently undergone an exciting refurbishment and expansion, creating a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its growing team. This role offers the chance to work in a modern, well-equipped environment alongside a dedicated and supportive team.

About the Practice:

  • This thriving practice is home to a stable and experienced team, including five Veterinary Surgeons (one with a certificate in small animal medicine), four Registered Veterinary Nurses, four Veterinary Care Assistants, a dedicated reception team, a practice administrator, and a practice manager.
  • Many team members have been with the practice for over six years, demonstrating a strong sense of community and continuity.
  • Since taking over in 2012, the practice owner has significantly expanded and developed the practice.

The recent refurbishment has added:

  • Six consultation rooms
  • Two operating theatres
  • A dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray
  • A state-of-the-art imaging room featuring digital X-ray, ultrasound, and a rigid endoscope
  • A separate pharmacy
  • Dedicated dog, cat, and exotic animal wards, as well as separate waiting areas
  • A new isolation ward
  • In addition to treating cats, dogs, and rabbits, the practice also sees a variety of exotic cases. One of the Veterinary Surgeons is currently studying for a certificate in exotic animal medicine, and two RVNs are pursuing additional qualifications in exotic species.

About the Role: This role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, with a flexible schedule designed to support a strong work-life balance. The rota includes just 1 in 4 weekends and no out-of-hours (OOH) work.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Anaesthetic monitoring
  • Inpatient care
  • Nurse consults

  • Assisting with procedures, including the opportunity to engage in Schedule 3 procedures

The Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is eager to contribute to the next chapter of the practice.

  • An interest in both the clinical and business aspects of veterinary practice is encouraged.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of up to £36,000 (FTE) based on experience
  • Generous CPD opportunities, including funded certificates
  • Social events and a focus on wellbeing
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS)
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards, including 20% off at select pet care retailers
