Permanent Ambulatory Equine Veterinary Surgeon - Canterbury, Kent

Type: Equine Practice

Location: Within 10 miles of of Canterbury

Practice Type: An independent and owned by an ‘Employment Ownership Trust’ thereby ensuring optimum work satisfaction and team camaraderie. It has a diverse caseload ranging from pleasure horses to high-level competition horses and everything in between. 

Facilities: It is fully equipped with top-quality equipment and on-site facilities are available to facilitate case workup. Surgical facilities are located at their other site which is within an acceptable driving distance for most clients. Out-of-hours emergencies are covered by Equicall thereby ensuring a good work-life balance.

Team Info: Successful expanding 4-vet branch practice.

Role: Due to unforeseen circumstances our client is on the hunt for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their team at a rapidly growing practice in the scenic countryside of East Kent, 20 minutes from Canterbury. 

Candidate: They are looking for a skilled and compassionate professional to join their friendly and supportive team who can contribute to the well-being of their equine community. The role will be an ambulatory role so a full driver's licence will be required. A large team of vets and nurses will support you.

Hours: It is a full-time position for an equine-only vet. Full shift and rota details will be discussed in the interview

Skills/Exp:

  • MRCVS or the ability to acquire it.
  • Equine Focus: Demonstrate a strong background and genuine passion for equine medicine and/or surgery/orthopaedics.
  • Experience: Ideally, the successful candidate would have a minimum of 3 years of experience in equine veterinary practice.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to educate and engage clients effectively.
  • Team Player: Collaborative attitude and the ability to work seamlessly within a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions if faced with a challenging situation.
