Our client is offering the chance for an experienced veterinary surgeon [ideally with leadership and management experience] to join their team as a Clinical Director based in their practice in Cardiff - the capital and commercial centre of Wales. It has become a culturally and recognised international city [not only known for its Rugby] because of its history, TV Centre, waterfront, and access to the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The Practice:

This is a well-established, 100% small animal, three branch practice located in Cardiff that is also a registered veterinary nurse training practice. You can find a good mix of city life and super countryside that can be experienced virtually on the doorstep.  They have 6 vets working alongside their nurses and a great support team of receptionists. Theirs is a friendly and encouraging culture and keenly supports case continuity and career development.  They pride themselves on a good working environment, ensuring good wellbeing for their staff and clients. They are well equipped and have separate cat and dog kennels to allow for maximum comfort for their clients, in house Idexx laboratory, digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, endo/laparoscopy and orthopaedic equipment amongst others.

The Role:

This is a full-time role where the successful candidate will be involved in both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of the practice with the opportunity to develop their interests. The rota is evenly shared between consulting and operating, and you will also have dedicated office time throughout the week. Working hours would be 40 hours over 4 days with shifts between 9am-7pm. You will be expected to work 1:2 Saturday mornings between 9am-1pm. No out of hours work.

The Candidate:

A good understanding of veterinary finance is highly desirable. RCVS membership and right to work in the UK is essential. Clean driver’s license required.
