Permanent Equine Veterinary Surgeon - Ashford

We are working with a well-established Equine Practice that is looking for an experienced equine vet to join their teams in the Ashford area of Kent. This is an ambulatory role where you will have access to our clients' portable equipment.

The Practice:

The practice is proud to provide the highest quality veterinary care within their modern, well-equipped group of equine practices while valuing the close relationship they have with their clients.

They provide a wide range of services, most of which can be provided at their clients’ yards or premises, or at the clinic where ample parking is available.

The practice has a range of diagnostic facilities including large examination rooms, operating suite, hard surface trot-up, and lunging area, stocks for reproductive work and other procedures, digital X-ray machine (clinic-based & portable), digital ultrasound machine, digital video endoscope, gastroscope, portable shockwave therapy, weighing scales, stabling, turnout paddocks and turning areas. 

The Role and Candidate:

The successful candidate will work closely with our client's team of vets, nurses, and receptionists. The position is ambulatory with the use of their range of portable equipment including; x-ray, ultrasound, respiratory and gastroscopes, shockwave, laser, and motorised dentistry. Plus, access to anaesthesia and theatre equipment at the main site.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is experienced and wants to be able to work with the practice to excel in their field of interest. They have a varied caseload from professional to domestic. They encourage your own workups, whilst working collaboratively as a team. Sports medicine experience/interest would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will work closely with their skilled team of vets (including diplomats and cert holders), supportive and hands-on nurses, and dedicated receptionists to develop the practice, expand services, and excel in their field of interest.

The role is full-time and your working hours will be 08:00-17:00/18:00 (Dependent on caseload) It will also include 1 in 10 OOH weekend rota with time off in lieu (every other week covered by OOH provider) Part-time applications are welcomed also.
