Permanent Equine Veterinary Surgeon - Isle of Man

We are working with a mixed practice based on the Isle of Man that has an opening for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon on a full-time permanent basis. Our client is a truly mixed practice that sees a variety of animals including small animals, equine and livestock.

The Practice:

This Practice is a well-established mixed practice with 3 branches on the Isle of Man. Their main clinic is in Douglas, with branches in Castletown and Peel. They currently have 8 vets working there and they have an excellent team of nurses and reception staff to help support them. They have in-house Idexx lab equipment, ultrasound, and digital x-ray. The Isle of Man is a unique place and has lots to offer whatever your interests. There is plenty to see and do, from mountain biking and coastal walks to lots of restaurants and pubs, a food & drink festival, agricultural shows and of course the famous TT races. Currently, they are COVID free, and have no on-island restrictions. The maximum rate of taxation is 20%, much lower than in the UK, and the IOM Government is currently offering a National Insurance Holiday for the first year of employment here.

The Role and Candidate:

The successful candidate needs to be happy with sole charge and also on call as they provide their own on-call to clients. Ideally, they are looking for someone who is able to bring their own experience and help them to provide an excellent service to clients. The rota is a 4 or 5 day week, working 8.30 am-6.30 pm. They share weeknight and weekend on-call on a rota. The candidate must be experienced in all areas of equine ambulatory practice, and be happy to provide support to newly qualified vets, to help grow the experience of the team. A valid UK driving license and RCVS membership are essential.

The Package:

Our client is offering a competitive salary and benefits package depending on experience which also includes accommodation if required.
