We are working with a Large Animal veterinary practice near Dunstable, Bedfordshire that is looking for an experienced production animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. This busy, friendly team are looking to expand and are looking for a vet that will share their proactive ethos.
The Practice:
The practice has a strong preventative medicine bias, with a proactive client base, they are keen on health planning and disease management. They have a varied caseload, with a true mixture of dairy, beef, sheep, and smallholders. They strive for clinical excellence and push themselves to use evidence-based medicine wherever possible. The practice is based on the border of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, just 40 minutes from to London by train, with easy access to the rest of the country by road. They are a small, friendly team of 5 vets, supported by the national team of 80.
The Role:
Although this is a full-time role the practice are more than happy to consider applicants wanting to work part-time, to complement their current part-time employees. Normal working hours are 08:00-17:00 (with 30 minutes lunch), rota to be confirmed. The weekend rota is 1 in 4 and the out of hour rota is also 1 in 4.
Sole charge will be required but only when on-call, with very occasional branch work required.
The role provides huge scope to develop both clinically: through supported time on farm and involvement in the clinical working groups; but also professionally, with the potential for management responsibilities for the right applicant.
