Permanent Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Barnet, London

Practice equipment:

  • General practice set up with:
  • Digital CR dental radiography
  • Separate dental suite
  • Full in-house lab equipment (IDEXX)
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy and bronchoscopy
  • Multi-parameter monitoring
  • Tonometry
  • Theatre suite
  • Four consulting rooms – two for cats and two for dogs
  • Separate cat and dog entrances/reception/consulting rooms and wards
  • RxWorks practice management system
  • Separate quiet room for end-of-life discussions and care.

Role: Our client is looking for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their well-established private practice.

Hours: Full-time

  • 4 days per week and 1:3 Saturdays with a day off in lieu
  • No OOH
  • Morning and afternoon 30 min ward rounds

Duties:

  • Providing excellent communication and individual, customised care
  • To achieve and maintain a trusting bond with owners and their pets through the life of their pet. To appreciate the animal-human bond and family life when consideration managing patient care
  • Thus, enabling the uptake of professional care and services we provide, whether through our facility and our visiting specialists or from referral to specialist centres, behaviourists and complementary care
  • To be professional, understanding, helpful, and friendly and to understand the value of our profession
  • To handle pets with respect and in a gentle and caring manner
  • To communicate well within the practice team and to respect individual strengths within the clinical and non-clinical teams.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Candidates will require at least 5 years of UK small animal practice
  • An interest in dentistry is preferable
  • Confident in routine surgery, medicine, and emergency work
  • Confident and able to support colleagues and lead the clinical team

Salary: Competitive salary - dependent on experience and skills
