Permanent Night ECC Registered Veterinary Nurse - Chichester

Due to our clients continued growing reputation, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for ECC night nurses to join their modern, vibrant, independent, and family-owned practice. Based within the new hospitals in Storrington and the historic city of Chichester, a stone’s throw from the beautiful South Downs National Park, they are 'more than a vets' – a family that upholds the values of respect, humility, professionalism, and communication. They deliver a personal service that clients deserve, delivered with real empathy and care – because it is how they would want to be treated themselves.

The Practice:

They are proud that their Storrington hospital is currently the only independently owned hospital in the UK to have full RCVS accreditation as well as achieving outstanding status in all associated awards. Their new site in Chichester will mirror this level of accreditation. In addition to this, they share its facilities with our sister service, which has 4 local branches, all of which are accredited and designed to the highest standards with comprehensive facilities.

During the day, the sister services routine vet care as well as complex treatments by Advanced Practitioners in state-of-the-art facilities. By night, they deliver the highest standard of emergency and out-of-hours care to both patients and neighbouring subscriber practices from within their hospitals. Teamwork and inclusivity are very important to them and one of their many strengths is the support they offer each other. The team is always available to support complex cases or the occasional exceptional caseload.

Continuity of care and excellent communication with clients, colleagues, and member practices is what sets them apart – their candidates need to be passionate about providing the highest standards for patients alongside delivering a premium service for clients.

As owners, the retention of their independence means that by working alongside their teams at the ground roots level, they have an inherent understanding of everyone's needs and can respond in a bespoke way. They believe in taking care of their team, through consistent communication, trust, and honesty, treating everyone in an individual way.

The Candidate:

  • They are looking for exceptional night RVNs to join their newly established teams who enjoy the challenge and variety of night work and are enthusiastic about nursing cases to the highest standard.
  • Good personal skills are essential as they pride themselves on the compassion shown to clients as well as patients.
  • Although experience in emergency care is preferred this is not essential and they would consider applicants with a strong passion for this discipline.
  • Funding towards an ECC certificate will also be considered.

The Role:

  • The role will involve seeing first opinion emergencies alongside providing continuous care for inpatients.
  • You must be comfortable with all aspects of general nursing and also be competent in emergency medical and surgical nursing including challenging anaesthetics.
  • You will be working with experienced and ECC dedicated vets who are both friendly and excellent team players.
  • They have a great relationship with the daytime teams in the hospital and branch practices and have developed strong bonds with their member practices. It is therefore vitally important that the nurses who join them has excellent communication skills and understand as well as value the importance of teamwork.
  • They recognise the importance of supporting team members who are working night hours and providing a good work/personal life balance. They have designed a sustainable rota to allow this: 2 nights on, 6 off, 4 nights on 6 off nights (further details on the rota can be discussed on application)
  • This is an exciting opportunity where the candidates will work within excellent surroundings, supported by a family-style team in a thriving independent practice. We invite you to join our family and be part of something special.

Salary: Competitive Salary (from £27,000 p/a) that is reflective of skills and experience.

  • Company pension
  • Employee discount
