Permanent OOHS Veterinary Surgeon - Leeds

Due to an increasing workload our client in Leeds, West Yorkshire is looking for an OOHS Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis. Your role as a Twilight Vet will see you working alongside a Night Vet and you will have the support of a fantastic RVN, SVN, and reception team too.

The Practice:

Our client has 4 clinics and 1 Tier 3 accredited veterinary hospital that has been providing a high standard of veterinary services to the Leeds area for over 40 years. They are continually updating their facilities and investing in equipment. They are also extremely proud of all their team and it is a credit to their commitment and compassion that they can provide this level of care to pets.

Three of the five branches have operating facilities, two of the branches can perform neutering and routine surgical procedures along with x-rays and laboratory tests. All of the clinics have fully stocked dispensaries.

The Role and Candidate:

  • Shift pattern, (totals less than 40 hours per week);
  • Week 1: Mon-Fri 5 days on, Sat/Sun off
  • Week 2: Mon-Sun twilight (2pm – 1am / 3pm–2am)
  • Week 3: Week off.

This is a fantastic role for an experienced Night Vet looking for shorter shifts or a veterinary Surgeon looking to build on their Emergency and Critical Care medicine and surgery. They cover OOH’s services for many local practices as well as many referral services, which means your night shift caseload can be exciting and varied. They have fantastic ICU and Critical Care facilities, and this is a fantastic opportunity for a surgeon with an ECC interest. During your week of day shifts, they are happy for you to choose whether you wish to work at the branch sites or hospital. This is a great chance to work on any areas of professional interest that you may have.

The right candidate will be an experienced Vet Surgeon who feels comfortable with all first opinion duties.

The Package:

In return, our client is offering an excellent salary - up to £60,000 a year depending on experience. In addition to this vets will get 6.6 weeks (pro-rata in hours) holiday plus birthday off, generous CPD allowance, and all the other usual benefits.
