Permanent Recent Graduate Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - West Midlands

We are currently working with an innovative, independent and modern practice based in the West Midlands close to West Bromwich that owing to expansion is looking to recruit a recently graduated veterinary surgeon to join their growing friendly team of veterinary professionals. 

The Practice:

This practice was founded over a decade ago because the owner has a love of animals and a passion for canine fertility and wanted to offer a local-friendly service. Since then the clinic has grown from strength to strength and now treats dogs, cats, and other small animals. They currently have 5 vets and 4 nurses plus a support team who all committed to delivering a very high standard of care In fact, they describe the practice as having a ‘ family vibe, busy, with a work hard, play hard ethos’. This is a strong surgically based practice that handles a varied caseload that includes soft tissue surgery, soft palate, entropion, c-sections, mass removals, orthopaedics, which means that investment has been made into being able to provide great facilities backed by superb services. E.g. consult rooms, operating theatres, perp/dental area, X-ray, colour Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, separate cat and dog holding and waiting areas, in house laboratory, fully kitted out ambulance; equipped with multi-parameter monitors, top table, and recovery for emergency mobile ops, canine fertility service, dietary advice, behavioural advice, prescription services, dentistry, puppy training advice, weight clinics, flea and worm control, annual vaccinations and health checks, preventative medical advice, allergy treatments, out of hours and emergency care. 

The Role and Candidate:

This is a permanent position working Mon- Fri on a rota between 8.00-20,00 [early & late],1: 2 Saturdays 8.00 -17.00, OOHS: 1:4 Sunday, Sole Charge on OOHs only, 15 minute consults, Animana computer system.

This position would suit a recently graduated small animal veterinary surgeon who is keen to learn and grow and to improve on their skills and abilities. The successful candidate will have good communication skills both verbal and written. They will be willing to integrate into a friendly team and be a good team player. Affable and friendly this surgeon will have a passion for delivering quality customer care and service. 

The Summary and Package:

Role: Permanent New Graduated Veterinary Surgeon

Type: Small Animal

Location: West Midlands.

Hours: Monday to Friday Rota’d between 8.00 am - 20.00 [early s & late]

WE: 1: 2 Saturdays 8.00 -17.00

OOHs: 1:4 Sunday

Sole Charge: on OOH only

Consult Times: 15 minutes

Computer: System: Animama

Branch Work: Yes

Salary: Competitive Salary (DOE and Skills)

Benefits: CPD between £2000 - £5000 + RCVS+VDS + 4 weeks holiday

Vehicle: Required but the use of company car potentially available

Accommodation: Houseshare and onsite accommodation available
