Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Gateshead

Location: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear
Practice: They are a Tier-3 hospital-based small animal practice with a reputation for excellent clinical care and a strong team ethos. Their 4 branch surgeries work closely with the hospital and have operating, dental and laboratory facilities. One of the branches is also equipped with an advanced ultrasound scanner.
Facilities: They are aspiring practitioners, accepting a small referral caseload in medical and surgical disciplines. Their in-house ECC team provides out-of-hours cover, providing optimal continuity of care. The hospital is well-equipped, including DR x-ray, high-spec ultrasound, endoscopy & endo-surgery.
Team:Over the 4 branches they have 15 Veterinary Surgeons, 22 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 13 Auxiliary Nurses, and 11 Receptionists. They have Veterinary Surgeons who hold RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery and a number of Veterinary Surgeons who hold a GPCert(SAM).
Role: They are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their multi-site practice
Duties: No two days are the same, they have a variety of cases surgical and medical, nurse consultations, and much more. If successful you will be involved in all aspects of nursing care including clinics and in-patient care before, during, and after surgery.
Hours: The rota involves working 38 hours per week over 4 days. The shift patterns are:
6.45am-4.45pm
8.00am-6.30pm
8.30am-6.30pm
Weekend work is 1 in 4 Saturdays or Sundays 6.45 am-6.30 pm.
Applicant Requirements:Registered Veterinary Nurse who is highly motivated, works well in a team, and thrives in the varied environment of a veterinary hospital. Candidates must be dedicated to progressing their knowledge and practical skills to ensure they fully support the Vets with a range of potentially complex and critical cases. An experience in nurse consults is also highly desirable.
Salary: The salary is up to£26,000depending on experience
