Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Oldbury, West Midlands

Facilities: They are a privately owned first opinion practice, and they have 2 branches that cover a variety of things; One is more surgically focused (BOAS, Entropion, C-section, Mass removal, Spays, Castrations) whereas the other is your ‘typical’ practice. One does see some exotics, orthopaedics alongside general practice and procedures (Dentals, neutering, lump removals, orthopaedics, etc). They have well-equipped practices including 3 x surgeries per branch, digital radiography, in-house lab, ultrasound, and dental equipment, a dedicated cat and dog ward, and isolation for infectious. 

Role: They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team of 6 Vets, 7RVN/SVNs, and 2 kennel assistants.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will:

  • Maintain a high standard of inpatient care and assist with surgical procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, maintaining a positive relationship with all team members.
  • Comply with the RCVS Nursing Code of Conduct and meet CPD requirements.
  • Ensure cleanliness throughout the practice and fulfill rota obligations.

Duties: Your daily duties will include admitting and discharging patients for routine operations, staying updated on preventative healthcare, product knowledge, and practice policies, and running nurse clinics. You will also ensure the correct disposal of clinical waste and maintain effective stock control and rotation.

Hours:

  • The position involves working Monday to Friday, with 1 in 4 Saturdays (a day off in lieu).
  • The standard working week is 5 days per week but would be willing to offer part-time positions.
  • No OOH requirements. 

Candidate: To succeed in this role, you must be a fully qualified RVN committed to maintaining high standards of care. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well within a team and support colleagues. Adherence to professional dress code and appearance policies is also required.

Salary: Salary up to £35,000 p/a DOE & Hours
