Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse, Oxford

Type: Small Animal

Location: Oxford

Practice: As a fully independent veterinary practice, our client is now looking to build upon their already-established reputation in first-opinion and referral-level feline medicine.

Facilities: They offer a wide range of services and treatments, from routine procedures like vaccinations, worming, and neutering surgery, to providing the care required should they become ill or injured. Their combined knowledge speaks for itself. There are very few cat issues they haven’t dealt with, and their on-site laboratory and surgical facilities allow them to provide swift and cost-effective diagnosis and treatment for clients.

Role:

  • Are you passionate about all things feline?
  • Do you thrive within a like-minded team?
  • Are you interested in a position where you can influence change?
  • Are you an RVN who has a mindset of continuous improvement?
  • Then this could be the perfect role for you...

Hours:

  • Full-time role - full rota will be discussed in the interview
  • You will need to be able to work 1 weekend in 5 with time off in lieu the following week
  • No emergency OOH. Inpatient checks only for stable inpatients on a rota basis - 1 weekday late check per week. Weekend checks are shared with the duty vet. Bonus payments are made for any checks carried out.

Candidate:  To assist in their plans they are looking for an experienced self-motivated RVN who relishes the opportunity to work solely with cats and for whom the client and patient experience is paramount. A keen feline focus is of course an advantage, however, no specific feline qualifications are needed as they will support your feline training where needed.

Essentials:

  • You must be either willing to relocate or already living within easily commutable distance of the Clinics
  • You must be able to take part in the out-of-hours rota
  • You must be able to take part in the weekend rota
  • You will be required to work at both their Clinics
  • You must have a full driving licence and access to your own car

Salary: Dependent on experience - Up to £30,000 p/a (FTE)

Benefits:

  • 5 weeks holiday plus 8 bank holidays (they don’t work bank holidays!)
  • £750 CPD allowance plus 3 days paid leave
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Sponsorship is available for the right candidate with an RCVS registrable qualification.
