We are working with a veterinary practice based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, who is looking for a permanent Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a full-time basis.
The Practice:
This practice is fully equipped to deal with the widest range of procedures, from check-ups through to more life-saving animal surgeries. They have modern, purpose-built premises which have been recently upgraded to include 7 new consulting rooms, a nurse's occupational treatment room, and a separate pharmacy. In addition, they have the following facilities:
- Digital radiography and ultrasound rooms
- 2 dental suites with dental radiography
- 3 surgical theatres
- Laboratory
- MRI & CT scanning
- Endoscopy
- Chemotherapy suite
- Separate cat, dog, and rabbit wards
- Isolation unit
- Intensive care facilities
The Role:
The Senior Veterinary Nurse is a key leadership role, working with the Lead Nurse and between the Hospital Director and nursing teams to ensure the smooth running of the practice. Leading by example, the Senior Veterinary Nurse should promote good team morale and a positive culture and motivate the whole team to embrace the practice values. This is a full-time permanent position with the exact working pattern and salary/benefits to be discussed at interview.
The Candidate:
You should be a fully active RVN and be responsible for line managing the Student Veterinary Nurses (SVN’s) and Animal Care Assistants (ACA’s). Our client encourages a high clinical standard and would expect their nurses to both work and teach to that standard. You will be a qualified nurse that takes pride in working to a high standard, communicates well with clients and colleagues alike, and is a good team player. There is also plenty of scope for you to experience all areas of busy hospital practice.
