We are working with a large, progressive independent practice in Surrey that is looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. A surgical bias is preferred and the applicant must be competent with sole charge as well as a range of surgical procedures as the role will be based at our main branch in the Reigate area.

The Practice:

Our client is proud to be an independently owned group that prides itself on providing traditional and personal service to their clients whilst using the latest styles of thinking, equipment, level of care, and treatments.

Their small animal vet team has wide-ranging experience and specialist interests. Orthopedics, cardiology, anesthesia, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, behaviour, laser therapy, acupuncture, and animal welfare are just some of their areas of expertise.

They are fully equipped to carry out surgical and diagnostic procedures which include laparoscopy, digital x-ray, portable dental x-ray, laser unit, endoscopy, ultrasound, laser unit, and more.

The Role and Candidate:

Our client has an opening available for a full time permanent Veterinary Surgeon at their independently owned four branch small animal practice in Surrey. A surgical bias is preferred and the applicant must be competent with sole charge as well as a range of surgical procedures as the role will be based at their main branch in the Reigate area.

They offer 15-minute appointments and are proud to offer their own OOH emergency service to clients so all vets participate in the equally shared rota. This entails no more than one night on call per week, and one weekend on call in six. There are also Saturday clinics at some of the smaller branches so in addition, there will be one Saturday 9 am-4 pm shift every 12 weeks (although these are currently on hold due to the pandemic).

The Package:

Our client is looking for the right candidate to join them and the salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience. Accommodation is available if required. Full details will be discussed in the interview.

They have 10 registered veterinary nurses and are a nurse training practice that also has RCVS Tier 2 status and are working towards Tier 3 hospital status. Across their diverse veterinary team, they have six certificate holders, and further qualifications and CPD are actively encouraged.
