We are working with a client with a practice based in Mapperley, Nottingham that is looking to recruit a small animal Veterinary Surgeon on a full-time permanent basis. As an experienced vet you will play a key role in helping to support the team, and mentor the less experienced vets alongside the Practice Partner.
The Practice:
Having been open for over 10 years, our client has grown into a busy practice, with an interesting and varied caseload and a fantastic team with a focus on personal customer service.
They offer a bright, spacious, air-conditioned practice, well-equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory and separate dog, cat, and rabbit wards. They also have laparoscopy equipment, allowing them the capability to perform procedures such as laparoscopic spays and cystoscopy. The ideal Nottingham location offers easy access to the Peak District as well as an easy commute to London for weekend trips!
The Role and Candidate:
The team is extremely dedicated and hard-working, and the environment is very supportive. You will join a vet team of 5, including the practice partner who qualified from Bristol and has 30 years of experience, a CertSAS (surgery certificate), and performs laparoscopic spays, etc. They also have a strong nursing team including a head nurse/practice manager, 4 nurses, 2 student nurses and a team of experienced receptionists.
They’re looking for a confident vet with a positive attitude who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Excellent client care and pet welfare standards are their main priority, so you’ll need to share their passion for delivering this level of service. You will have extensive surgical experience, be comfortable working autonomously, and will enjoy mentoring less experienced members of the team when needed.
The permanent position is full-time working 40 hours per week including weekends worked on a 1 in 4 rota basis. With no out of hour requirements, this gives you a great work/life balance.
The Benefits:
In return for your dedication and high-quality work, our client can offer a package that includes:
- Varied caseload to continue development
- Exciting career opportunities including Partnerships
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Contributory pension scheme
- Generous CPD allowance of 5 days plus £1000-£1500 per annum
