We are working with a lovely two branch practice in the Haddington area of Lothian, Scotland that is looking for an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon. This is a permanent role and ideally or client is looking for a full-time vet but would consider applications from part-time vets.

The Practice:

Since our client opened in 2012 their practice has grown to 4 vets, 3 nurses 3 receptionists, and operates from 2 premises. The central operations centre is fully kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that pets receive the most up-to-date care available.

Their team of Veterinary Surgeons, Nurses, and Animal Care Assistants have a wealth of experience, and their main objective is to provide pets with excellent veterinary care throughout their whole life, from early days as a puppy or kitten right through to caring for them as a senior citizen. They run the national Pet Health Club, allowing owners to help spread the cost of routine healthcare for their pets.

Their facilities will help to secure a speedy diagnosis and treatment and giving owners peace of mind that their pet is in good hands. Major operations are carried out at their fully equipped surgery, which has the latest technology to help them care for pets.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent position, although our client would consider applications from someone looking for part-time. The full-time hours will be 40 hours per week Monday-Friday 09:00-18:00, including 1:3 Saturday mornings 09:00-12:00. Out of hours are covered by Vets Now, giving you a great work/life balance. Ideally, you will be happy working sole charge as their second branch requires sole consulting vet cover, procedure/ops day at their main branch weekly.

The Candidate:

Ideally, our client is looking for a full-time vet, who is confident sole charge for their branch surgery, however, there will be opportunity for 1 full day a week in the main surgery for operations if requested by the candidate. If the applicant was looking for PT then they wouldn't be able to commit to a day operating each week. Holiday cover in the main branch will be required, and as such a confident, sole charge vet is required.

The Package:

In return, they are offering a competitive salary of between £30,000-£45,000 p/a (DOE) FTE, exclusive company discounts, reward schemes, and career development.
