We are working with an independent friendly small animal practice located in the glorious Gloucestershire countryside that is looking for Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. This position would suit a vet with a few years’ experience or a new/recent Graduate.

The Practice:

Our client is proud to offer a unique veterinary service in the Berkeley Vale area, offering individual personal care for pets at their well-equipped Practice and in their own home.

The strength of their service lies in their small team building close relationships with clients and patients.

They offer a 24 hour a day emergency service every day of the year so even if the Practice is closed the telephone calls will always be answered. Occasionally clients might get a message service but they will always return calls as soon as possible.

The practice is staffed between 8.00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday, and 08:30-12:00 (noon) on Saturdays and these are the hours in which they offer routine appointments and visits. Clients are welcome to call in anytime to weigh pets, collect medicines, and order supplies.

When pets need more involved treatments such as operations, x-rays, ultrasound scanning, or investigations under anaesthetic they will treat them at their fully-equipped clinic. They are a training practice and are well equipped: digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, multi-monitor, etc.

The Role and Candidate:

Our client is looking for candidates with excellent people skills. The position would suit a vet with a few years’ experience or a new/recent Graduate. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and effective team, with the opportunity of longterm prospects if interested. They would be particularly keen to hear from candidates with a surgical bias.

The position is full or part-time, to suit. They cover their own out of hours with one evening per week and one weekend in four/five on-duty being part of the role.

The Benefits:

In return, our client is offering a generous package (dependent on experience), CPD/certificate training encouraged and funded, and VDS/RCVS paid.
