Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Manchester

We are currently working with a delightful growing and busy practice based in Manchester with great transport links to Bury, Oldham & Rochdale. They have a fantastic opportunity for an additional small animal veterinary surgeon to join their existing great team on a full-time permanent basis. Enthusiasm and passion for what you do are essential as well as providing an excellent and comprehensive service to all clients and patients.

The Practice:

This first opinion practice has established a developed and bonded client base within their local community and their team handles a varied caseload. The successful candidate will be working alongside a friendly, supportive, and experienced team of two vets, three nurses, two student nurses, two client care advisors, and a practice manager in a busy clinic. They can carry out oncology with staging, both routine and non-routine surgical procedures including orthopaedics and most soft tissue surgery; examples include BOAS, ear ablation, thyroidectomy, reconstructive surgery, anal gland removal, cystotomy, and urethrostomy. They also have a dedicated in-house lab, digital x-ray machine, and an ultrasound machine. Where they are located has great transport links to Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, and Manchester. Heaton Park and Middleton shopping centre are just a short drive away.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a full-time permanent position based on a 40-hour working week Monday to Friday with 1 in 2 Saturdays nut no Sundays required. There are no out of hours requirements and they run 10-20 minute consults. There will periods of sole charge required for the role and you must be comfortable with this.

This post would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with at least a minimum of 1 year’s experience and who ideally has strong general medical skills as well as demonstrable surgical procedure experience. Good communication skills, proactivity, and a genuine passion to provide the very best care possible for their clients and their pets.
