We are working with an independent small animal practice in Stowmarket, Suffolk that is looking for a 4th Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis.
The Practice:
This practice aims to provide the best possible care in 1st opinion practice both medically and surgically whilst also investing in their staff and their individual ambitions. To assist the team in medical diagnoses, they have the usual in-house laboratory equipment with electrolytes, haematology, and biochemistry performed in-house. Their imaging suite includes an ultrasound machine and digital x-ray plus they have a state-of-the-art dental facility including dental x-ray.
Their fantastic team of qualified and in-training nurses are specifically allocated time slots to help with blood tests, sampling, laboratory work and minor procedures. A number of orthopaedic surgical procedures are performed in-house, and they are seeking to extend their expertise in this area. They believe that every member of staff can make a difference to the practice and have regular Continuous Improvement meeting to discuss new ideas submitted by all staff members on how to improve how the practice runs, both for a better workplace for their staff and to offer a better service to clients.
The Role:
This is a full-time permanent position, weekday hours are between 8 am and 6:16 pm, with 1 in 4 weekends on call which includes a Saturday morning clinic between 8:30 am and 12 pm. A day and a half off is given for working the weekend plus, any call-outs attract a retrospective bonus. Both VDS & RCVS fees paid for and CPD is encouraged with costs assessed on an individual basis but normally fully covered with time off paid for.
The Candidate:
The practice is looking for a vet with at least 2 years’ experience, who is confident to undertake consultations and perform routine and more complex surgeries.
