We are currently working with an established, independent accredited practice situated in a historic market town in the heart of Buckinghamshire. This practice which has a very low turnover of clinical staff is currently able to offer a small animal Veterinary Surgeon the great opportunity to join their fantastic team on a permanent full-time basis.

The Practice:

The practice is an established, independent, accredited 9 vet RCVS Veterinary Hospital with 4 local branch surgeries, all within a few minutes’ drive of the hospital, which was purpose-built in 2009.

They are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment including but not limited to 3 operating theatres, in-house laboratory, radiology, ultrasound, and orthopaedic equipment.

The successful applicant will undertake their routine consults at one of the branches, which gives true local care and allows their vets to develop strong relationships with their clients and their pets, and enable them to follow up their own surgical cases at the hospital to ensure continuity of care. They offer all routine and advanced orthopaedic surgery (e.g. TTA) and have their own dedicated lab with specialist lab technicians to ensure they can start treatment as quickly as possible.

The Role:

This is a permanent full-time position working 4.5 days per week on a varied rota between 8.30 am- 6.30 pm with 1:8 weekends. They would also consider part-time for the right candidate.

In return, the practice is offering a generous package, commensurate with experience and qualifications. CPD is supported and strongly encouraged plus an allowance and time away from work are provided. Holiday entitlement is initially 28 days.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a friendly and enthusiastic vet with excellent client care skills, and the ability to build strong trusting relationships with clients and to articulate clear treatment advice and options. The vet will be able to work within their clinical and non-clinical teams and help with the development of a designated branch surgery. It is important that the ideal candidate has the desire to develop their general veterinary and surgical skills. Ideally, candidates will have at least 2 years’ experience in practice.
