We are working with a charity practice in Bradford that is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis.

The Practice:

Founded in 1917 by animal welfare pioneer, Maria Dickin CBE, PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity. Operating through a UK-wide network of 48 Pet Hospitals, PDSA provides low cost and free veterinary care to the sick and injured pets of people in need and promotes responsible pet ownership.

The hospitals are well equipped with the likes of ASIF Kits, Endoscopes, Digital Xrays, Ultrasounds and ECG equipment - just to name a few! They have a very varied caseload with great opportunities for Surgical and Medical development.

this is a full-time permanent role where you will be working 37.5 hours per week. The shifts are on a rota with the earliest start of 08:30 and the latest finish of 18:00.

The Remuneration Package:

In return, our client is offering a package worth between £33,000-£47,000 p/a (DOE) that includes:

We are working with a well-equipped and friendly small practice in the Hammersmith and Fulham area of West London, that is looking to recruit a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This is a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse role where you will be leading a team of 3 other nurses and a part-time CCA.

The Practice:

With a Branch partner and 2 extra vets, the branch has Ultrasound, ECG, Digital x-rays, In-house blood analysis, and dental x-ray. They run 15-minute consultations which enable them time to be really thorough.

They provide ongoing support to their teams, both in practice and through a dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from the advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The Role: 

As a full-time employee, you will be working 40 hours per week with the standard 1 in 3 Saturday shift between the clinics or a 1:6 weekend shift in the hospital, as well as a fair share of bank holidays and on-call (with time back in Lieu). They can offer part-time hours for this role for the right candidate.

You will be involved in all aspects of nursing and previous experience working in a small animal practice is required. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of nursing duties as well as sharing best practices with your team and helping to support and develop the student nurses in your practice.

Our client is offering a salary up to £30,200 p/a (including London weighting allowance), dependent on experience and benefits that include:

Skills and Experience:

Essential Attributes:

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse as defined by RCVS
  • English language skills
  • Computer literate
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively
  • Proven empathy with patients and clients
  • Demonstrate initiative in patient welfare
  • Understand duties that may and may not be undertaken by PCAs or student nurses.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Driving licence
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a team
  • Demonstrable ability to work under pressure

  • Small animal practical experience and realistic job expectations
