Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Berkshire

Type: Small Animal

Location: Close to the border of Berkshire and Wiltshire

Practice Type: This is a busy, Tier 3 hospital set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, fully equipped with surgical and diagnostic imaging equipment to work up cases to a high standard.

Facilities: Include - ultrasound, x-ray, arthroscopy, fully equipped in-house lab, orthopaedic equipment, dental x-ray, and much more are available. 

Team: The team has Certificate holders in surgery and ophthalmology and they have further staff members currently studying for their certificates in medicine and surgery. They are a progressive group, focused on improving clinical standards and are very team orientated, often socialising outside of work and creating a strong team environment. 

Job Description:

  • They are looking for a forward-thinking, proactive member to join their team.
  • You would join a 10 vet and 15 nurse team with a range of experiences and interests to help you through your day!
  • Two branches with a varied rota balanced with surgery time and consulting and an opportunity to further your career with CPD and certificates encouraged.

Hours: The position is a 4 day week, Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00

Weekends: 1 in 7 weekends on call. 

OOHs: 1 in 7 OOH nights

Branch Work: Occational

Sole Charge: None

Consults: 15mins routine, but bloods/complex 20-30mins

Skills/Exp: The ideal candidate will be open to learning, interested in furthering their career in a busy hospital that has their own out of hours, and motivated to work in a team that shares similar values. 

Salary: Competitive Salary £35,000-£60,000 p/a - reflective of skills and experience
