Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Bolton, Lancashire

Type: Small Animal

Location: Bolton, Lancashire

Practice: Part of a group

Team: You will become an important part of an established practice where looking after colleagues and clients is the top priority. Yes, the animals are important, but they know that none of this would be possible (or as much fun) without the human. Their fabulous team is made up of 5 Vets, 6 RVNs, a Practice Manager, and 5 Receptionists.

Facilities: The surgery is purpose-built to industry-leading standards and has state-of-the-art equipment including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray, K-Laser, and ultrasound.

Role: An exciting opportunity has come up for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established practice in Bolton

Hours: They are happy to meet vets that require flexibility; be this a full 4 days, 2-3 days per week, a consulting-only role, short days, part-time while completing a certificate, etc.

  • Ideally, they will need someone to cover Thursday and Friday, however, the rota is flexible enough to accommodate different shift patterns and a number of options are available.
  • Alternatives include a Tuesday 10 am to 4 pm, or 2 full days with a shorter Tuesday, plus a Friday day off swap or possible alternating every other Friday as a day off.
  • If your preference is consulting only this is possible and if you are on a 2-day week rota, then you would have an operating day every other week to balance out the full-time staff members

Weekends/OOHs: In order to maintain your work-life balance and enjoy everything this area has to offer you will work within a 1 in 4 weekend rota, Saturday only from 9 am to 12-noon sole charge with 2 RVNs and 2 receptionists in the practice and no OOH.

Skills/Exp:  They are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to come and join their caring, supportive team that really values work-life balance and this is displayed in numerous ways via our daily schedules. Lunch break is guaranteed, with time specifically put in the diary for catching up, calls, and emergencies. Happy to pay for and support you whilst you work towards a certificate.

Branch Work: No

Salary: Competitive salary of between £45,000-£60,000 dependent on experience (negotiable if cert. holder)

Benefits: Excellent package is available - full details will be discussed in the interview
