Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Colchester

We are working with a friendly and well-established two-branch practice in the Colchester area of Essex that is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. They are looking for someone who is confident with surgery and is a team player.

The Practice:

Our client is a Tier II accredited practice registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons' Practice Standards Scheme. Their highly trained and experienced staff strive to provide the best medical, surgical, and nursing care for their patients' health. They believe in delivering up-to-date services in a kind and compassionate fashion, as well as treating their clients in a caring and sensitive manner. Their facilities have been designed with clients and pets in mind:

  • Two waiting rooms enable separate areas for quieter patients from our more boisterous visitors.
  • Modern and fully equipped operating theatre.
  • A full range of internal and external diagnostic facilities including blood testing, ECG heart recording, endoscopy, ultrasonography, light microscopy, x-ray suite, air-driven dental machine, ear irrigation system, a multi-parameter anaesthesia monitor, and a Tonometer.
  • Separate cat and dog wards.
  • Isolation facilities.

The practice is registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and is inspected regularly, ensuring that they comply with all health and safety regulations and that they provide the highest standards of care within the practice. They are an RCVS training practice and have 14 nurses, 10 of whom are qualified and have also gained a silver ISFM award for the practice, and an RWAF silver award. 

The Role and Candidate:

Our client is looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis, the exact working pattern will be discussed in the interview. The main rota would involve a day off during the week and 1:4 Saturday mornings with no OOH.

Ideally, they are looking for a colleague to join them ASAP but definitely by July 2021.

They have invested in their people, premises, and equipment, and have a certificate holder and one working towards a soft tissue surgical certificate. They can boast a brand-new ultrasound machine, new in 2018 video-endoscopy, digital x-ray and excellent in-house laboratory equipment. They have just completed a total refurbishment and extension of the current facilities to include separate cat waiting and consulting rooms. 

They are looking for someone who is confident in surgery and is a team player.

The Package:

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary (DOE) and benefits package that includes:
