Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Dewsbury

Type: Small Animal

Location: West Yorkshire

Practice: Type: Part of a group

Sole charge:  Yes

Team Info: The enthusiastic team consists of 7 Veterinary Surgeons with varying amounts of experience, led and fully supported by the Clinical Director. They are supported by 7 caring nursing staff and a great team of permanent and part-time reception staff overseen by the Practice Manager.

Facilities: The practice is a busy first opinion practice in Dewsbury that offers all routine surgery plus some more advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. They have a fully equipped operating room with ultrasonic instrument cleaning and vacuum sterilisers separated from non-clean procedure areas, including a separate diagnostic x-ray/ultrasound room.

In-house blood testing, using the latest Idexx analysers and also Sedivue analyser for urine sediment analysis. Facilities to offer blood pressure testing, cryosurgery, to perform suction, and have a fully integrated dental machine.

Hours: There is scope for this position to be full or part-time hours depending on applicant preferences. There are no out of hours with this post.

Duties: A normal day in life would consist of a good mixture of consult and surgery work depending on the rota for that day. They would try to incorporate operating time each day particularly if the Vet Surgeon was to be on a later finish with evening consultations. Client calls, telephone consultations, and of course reporting on any in-patient cases they are responsible for.
