Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Exeter

Type: Small Animal

Location: Exeter, Devon

Practice: Part of a group

Facilities: They are a modern, fully equipped RCVS-accredited practice setting the standards for first-opinion work in the area. They are a well-equipped, 4-branch, small animal practice offering routine services alongside many diagnostic and specialist services. Their hospital surgery is currently undergoing expansion to provide CT scanning and improved Exotic facilities. Their priorities lie in client and patient care whilst ensuring that their staff is happy and well cared for with a healthy work-life balance.

Role: They are expanding their team to accommodate a growing number of clients and patients. They are looking for a candidate who is dedicated to providing an excellent level of care, to both the patient and the client. 

Hours: 

  • Full-time position; however, part-time applications are considered

  • 4 days per week

  • 1 in 10 full weekends (with a day off in lieu on the following Monday)

  • 1 in 10 Saturdays

  • On-call rota for inpatients only.

Duties: You will be located primarily within the hospital and responsible for your own caseload. Plenty of support from experienced colleagues and certificate holders is available as required. You will partake in morning and afternoon rounds for case discussion and planning. They are looking for the right to fit with the team, interest in medicine is preferable but not essential.

Candidate: You will also be confident, friendly, proactive, and comfortable with occasional sole charge. There is internal support from multiple certificates and diploma-holding colleagues and outstanding facilities at their hospital premises, where case continuity is possible, and three well-equipped branches that have their own teams who are encouraged to develop a good working relationships with their own clients. Study towards further qualifications encouraged and funded. 

Salary: The salary on offer is up to £60,000 p/a (D.O.E.)
