Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Haringey, London

We are working with a successful practice that is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years’ small animal practice experience and be confident in their recommendations.

The Practice:

The surgery is near a large park, Alexandra Palace. It's based in a lovely part of London with a very villagey feel - lots of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants on the doorstep! They have fantastic clients and are active in the local community. You will be working alongside a Certificate Holder in Surgery within a well-equipped practice including both digital x-ray and dental x-ray, ultrasound, tonometer, bronchoscope and endoscope, blood pressure machine, ECG, full lab including microscope, haematology and biochemistry analyser, bone kit as well as a full ex-lap kit including suction and diathermy. All out-of-hour care is managed by a local hospital, where you will also have access to CT and MRI.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a full-time permanent position where you will be working a 4 day week with 1 in 3 weekends. You will be included on their on-call and bank holiday rota which is a fair share amongst all vets in the region. On-call approx. 3 weeks of the year, providing support to the night team at the local hospital if required.

You will be joining a professional, personable team in the practice, where you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As a qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working in sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our clients' values being trustworthy, caring, and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing their one team culture.

You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

The Package:

This role offers a basic salary between £36,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience.

The benefits package includes a generous CPD allowance of £1500 CPD with 3-days CPD leave is also designed to drive your progress, balanced by a 4-day week with 5 weeks annual holiday allowance plus bank holidays. Plus RCVS, VDS, and BVA membership.
