Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - North Surrey

Type: Small animal

Location: North Surrey

Practice Type: Independent mixed practice

Services: They are well equipped and work to a high standard of care, offering orthopaedics, laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasonography, acupuncture, and laser therapy, as well as their own laboratory and behaviourist.

Team: They have 12 veterinary surgeons and 10 registered veterinary nurses and are a nurse training practice. They also have RCVS Tier 2 status and are working towards Tier 3 hospital status. Across their diverse veterinary team, they have six certificate holders, and further qualifications and CPD are actively encouraged.

Branches: They have 3 branches in the Reigate area of North Surrey

Role: Our client has an opening available for a full-time permanent veterinary surgeon at their independently owned three branch small animal practice in Surrey.

Hours: Full-time - Hours over the week can be negotiable and discussed.

  • Working hours are variable across the week and because they have quite a large team of vets, can be flexible to fit with the applicants needs to some degree.
  • Admin time is factored into the rota so vets usually leave on time as they believe in a good work-life balance.
  • There are also Saturday clinics at some of the smaller branches so in addition there will be one Saturday 9 am-4 pm shift every 12 weeks.

Branchwork: The role will be split between their 3 branches, and could also include some hours with their mobile veterinary team if desired.

Duties: They offer 15-minute appointments and are proud to offer their own OOH emergency service to clients. While it is not essential that you join the OOH rota, it would be desirable to have someone who was happy to fit into the on-call schedules.

Support: They have four certificate-holding vets doing advanced case management, and many of the nurses are doing clinical development courses to add to their skills. CPD is encouraged and paid for. They are a nurse training practice partnered with MYF at Aldershot. They work hard at fostering and maintaining a warm and friendly working atmosphere in their teams, so everyone can enjoy and gain satisfaction in their roles.

Package: They are looking for the right candidate to join their friendly team – salary negotiable and commensurate with experience and hours worked over the week. Full details of the package will be discussed in the interview.
