Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Pontypridd

Role: Permanent Veterinary Surgeon

Type: Small Animal

Location: Pontypridd

Practice: The surgery is built to industry-leading standards and has state-of-the-art equipment including digital radiography, ultrasound, and an in-house lab.

Team: They are a hardworking but fun team of 3 vets (with 30+, 13, and 2 years experience), 3 experienced nurses, and 4 Receptionists. They put emphasis on working as a team and truly supporting each other. They have a practice ethos of the animals always coming first so they don’t push you for any financial targets.

Role: If you are a Vet looking to have some extra free time or are considering a change of scenery with flexibility, and being part of a supportive team is important to you, then they have the perfect opportunity for you

Hours:

  • They know that being a vet has to fit around all the other parts of life that are important, so they are open to you working shifts that truly suit you.
  • Would you prefer full or part-time? Only certain days of the week? Longer or short days?
  • All non-routine appointments are 20 minutes and routine appointments are 15 minutes.
  • They have 1-hour lunch breaks that are fully paid as they know emergencies occasionally happen (although this is rare!).
  • Everyone is paid for 30minutes after the surgery officially closes so they leave on time or early!

OOHS/WE: To be discussed in the interview

Skills/Exp:

  • The ideal vet to join them will be personable, have good clinical skills, be confident with consultations and routine procedures, and have excellent communication skills.
  • Communication is very important to them, being able to build a rapport with clients is an essential skill, as is the ability to support your colleagues.
  • They work best by discussing cases, sharing opinions and expertise, and supporting each other in practice.

Salary: Competitive salary £35,000-£65,000 p/a (DOE) FTE

Package:

  • Career development opportunities
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • CPD allowance – they are happy to fund and support certificates (one of their vets is currently working towards a certificate in small animal medicine)
  • Free on-site parking
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards
