Our client is looking to recruit a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their happy and supportive team on a permanent basis at their 4-branch Vet Group based in the Rochester area of Kent.
The Practice:
This group is a 4 branch, small animal practice based in the Rochester area of Kent. The group has been practicing for over 38 years and they employ over 50 members of staff across the group, 11 of whom are vets.
Each branch has a full team of qualified nurses, experienced receptionists, and a branch manager to ensure the smooth running of the branch. The Practices have in-house laboratories, digital x-ray processors and the use of ultrasound facilities. Within the vet team, they have a wealth of experience and vets with specific interest in orthopaedics, cardiology/ultrasonography, and ophthalmology plus they have visiting specialists that they use regularly too.
Mon - Fri they generally have two vets working at least 2 branches, one vet covering three separate consult sessions throughout the day, and the second vet operates in the morning and then consults during the evening between 5-7.15 pm.
The Role:
This is a permanent full-time role where you will usually work four full days during the week (Mon to Fri) and cover the weekend rota of 1:3 Saturdays.
Their branches open at 8 am and close at 7.30 pm Mon to Fri. The last appointment of the day is at 7 pm and they offer 15-minute consults, all by appointment. Two of the branches open on a Saturday morning (9 am to 12.30 pm) and the other two branches open for a full day, the latest appointment being at 4 pm. One branch opens on a Sunday morning too.
During lockdown/Covid they are trying to remain open, even if they are needing to adapt the hours/services.
The Candidate:
Our client is looking for a confident Vet who is happy with sole charge work and is surgically confident. You will be a strong team player and happy to support other members of staff as well as ensuring that clients are given a friendly service at all times.
