Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Southampton
We are working with a small animal practice in Southampton that has a new opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their passionate and friendly team on a full-time permanent basis.
Due to continued growth, our client is pleased to offer a new opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to come and join their passionate and friendly team. The practice is only 6 miles away from central Southampton, and is in an area of family residential homes, a strong retail offering that attracts people from a wide area, and there is easy access to coastal and rural areas.
They would like to meet you if you are a Veterinary Surgeon who already has experience from first opinion practice, and feels comfortable consulting with clients, and is confident in routine surgery. You should be capable of emergency surgery if needed but no OOH work is required. They are keen to meet you if you have any individual passions you wish to pursue such as orthopaedics or exotics but this is not essential.
The Role and Candidate:
Whilst you will get the chance to work autonomously, with some sole charge, and have the clinical freedom to treat your patients as you need, you can also benefit from working as part of an experienced and friendly team and alongside the practice owners who will be on hand to support and offer advice. They also benefit from working with other nearby practices in the group to offer a high quality of patient care.
They have a full-time position available, Mon - Fri - 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days , 1 in 2 weekends, with days off in lieu.
You will be supported by the other members of the team, who include three experienced Nurses, one of whom also completes Practice Manager duties, and the reception team who the clients describe as friendly, professional, caring, and kind.
In addition to your salary, pension contributions paid annual leave, and a host of other benefits, they are also able to agree on a CPD budget to support your professional development as they are keen to develop the skills of all of the colleagues within their team.
The practice has an expanding client base with an increasingly varied caseload and they see a number of more advanced medical cases which allows them to progress workups and diagnostics. Whilst they have all the equipment that you should expect in a modern built practice such as including digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory facilities, the team, and their supportive environment make this a special place to work.
