Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Woodbridge

We are working with a lovely practice in the quaint historic town in Suffolk that is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. This role would suit a confident small animal clinician that has at least three years of practice experience.

The Practice:

Our client is based in a quaint historic town in the Woodbridge area of Suffolk, that is known for being one of the most desirable places to live in the country and it is more famous for its beautiful Castle which towers over the town. This practice is small animal only, operating over 6 days. The building is purposely-built, modern, and spacious. They have separate dog and cat kennels and run a range of nurse-run consultations including geriatric pet, weight control, travel, and dental clinics.

The practice has a modern range of “usual toys”, but there is also a budget for more specified equipment to suit the applicant’s interests. They run on-site orthopaedic, soft tissue surgery, and dermatology referrals. With a full complement of nursing and reception staff plus an experienced practice manager. Two other experienced vets complete the team (one with a strong interest in dermatology and dentistry).

The Role and Candidate:

Our client is looking for an Experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team. Ideally, this is a full-time position, working a 4 day week with 1:3 Saturday and no OOH, but they are open to flexible working for the right candidate. The clinical director and the practice manager are very conscious of providing staff with an excellent work/life balance and a striving work environment.

The role will be well supported by a network of like-minded professionals. They can offer candidates an excellent relocation package if required. Own interests are strongly encouraged (especially if in cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, or anaesthesia).

The ideal candidate will be a confident small animal clinician who is passionate about first opinion veterinary medicine with good communication skills and a drive to practice veterinary medicine at a high standard

The Remuneration Package:

In return, our client is offering a competitive package subject to skills and experience that includes:

  • 5 weeks paid holiday, not including bank holidays
  • 5 days paid CPD leave and £1250 CPD Allowance per annum
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • VDS Membership and BVA Membership paid
  • Service-based holiday entitlement increases
  • Birthday leave
  • Discounted veterinary fees
  • Pension
  • Annual pay reviews
  • Social events
  • Career progression opportunities
  • And much, much more
