Permanent Ward Registered Veterinary Nurse - Guildford
We are working with a Referral Practice in the Guildford area of Surrey that is looking for two dedicated and passionate ward Registered Veterinary Nurses who can provide advanced nursing care to patients receiving pioneering orthopaedic and neurological treatments.
The Practice:
The practice is located against a beautiful backdrop in rural Surrey and has Veterinary Surgeons who specialise in the treatment of orthopaedic and neurological conditions in small companion animals.
The practice is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and has facilities including:-
- Custom-built patient wards with glass doors to allow a wide field of view for the animals.
- Digital imaging systems including MRI, CT, and Arthroscopy
- In-house Physiotherapists
- A rehabilitation centre within the building
The Candidate:
- Your ability to be forward-thinking, show empathy, and demonstrate exemplary teamwork is essential. This position is perfect for those who wish to develop their nursing knowledge and skills to the next level and care for patients with more advanced illnesses and diseases.
- This exciting position involves caring for orthopaedic and neurological patients in the wards. You will get exposure to caring for patients with a range of conditions, including caring for intensive patients and using advanced nursing skills.
- You should be a dynamic individual with high attention to detail and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- They have a six-month induction training scheme where all new nurses are trained by a nursing mentor. Ongoing support is provided via one-to-one meetings and a yearly appraisal. The nursing structure and encouragement for extra learning and CPD allow nurses to grow and develop their careers in different directions. Monthly lectures are held internally, by nurses, for nurses, so you can share and develop your knowledge.
The Role:
They are recruiting for two positions:
- Full-time position – working a 40 hour week, on a rotating shift pattern of 7 am-3 pm and 1 pm-9 pm alongside a 1 in 5 weekend rota. You will also be required to work as part of a bank holiday rota.
- Part-time position – working a 30 hour week over 3 days, alongside a 1 in 5 weekend rota.
The Package:
In return, they offer a competitive salary of circa £30,000 p/a (DOE and hours), RCVS registration, funded CPD, a company pension scheme, life assurance, health cash plan, an employee assistance program, and an onsite gym.
