Registered Veterinary Nurse - Senior Anesthesia - Halifax

Type: Small Animal

Location: Halifax, High Wycombe

Practice: The hospital is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can offer the most advanced treatment options available for Orthopaedic, Neurology, Soft Tissue, Oncology, and Internal Medicine cases.

Facilities: They have recently introduced a state-of-the-art HDU unit, a remarkable addition that significantly elevates the level of care and support we can offer to their valued patients. There is a 1.5T high-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computerised tomography (CT) suite on-site, and the hospital has invested in the latest direct digital radiography systems (also known as radiographs or X-rays) (DR). They routinely use computerised gait analysis to aid in the diagnosis of complex multi-limb lameness and employ the same technology to monitor recovery from surgery.

Role: Demonstrate a passion for veterinary anaesthesia nursing and a commitment to excellence in patient care. They will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional clinical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Duties: In this role, you will provide expert guidance in the treatment and care of our patients. Your responsibilities will include leading and supporting junior nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and clinic protocols, and collaborating closely with veterinarians to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans. As a pivotal member of their clinic, you will play a central role in overseeing patient care, fostering a positive clinic culture, and upholding the highest standards of veterinary nursing.

Hours: This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week - 4 or 5 days per week and you will provide coverage for around 2 Bank Holidays annually. Earliest start is 07:00am and the latest finish time is 20:30pm, typically rotating between earlies and lates on a weekly basis. 

Applicant Requirements

  • RVN Qualification held for 2+ years
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a referral hospital
  • Proven experience in Anaesthesia, showcasing a successful track record
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to patient safety

Salary: £36,000 DOE
